See 18 of the world's best skateboarders come together in Munich, Germany on June 23 to compete in an epic 300m slopestyle course that combines street and park elements in one unique skate event.
Watch the star skater claim the first Red Bull Roller Coaster crown ahead of Danny León and Curren Caples with a last-gasp rocket ride in Munich, Germany.
It's always hoped for, but seldom actually materialises in run-format skate contests, that the leaderboard shuffles continually towards the business end of the session, like the final furlong of a horse race.
In Munich, Germany, the new Red Bull Roller Coaster contest saw such a crescendo, as Primitive's flow rider Jake Ilardi waited until the very last run of the day to put together a wild and perfect run to eclipse all comers and win at his first international contest.
Predictability goes out the window when you have a course that nobody's familiar with, and the limited two-run window of opportunity saw upsets, surprises and some controversy. Perhaps it was inevitable, given that every aspect of this excellent production was new that the other rankings would become a matter of debate, but the outright winner was certainly clear-cut.
